ACTIVE APRIL Fitness Challenges & Free Group Fitness Classes
Are you ready to get MOVEing and get ACTIVE for April?
In the spirit of encouraging everyone to move more for better health, this month DeakinACTIVE is hosting a range of free Get Active April activities online and on campus to help you reach at least 30 minutes of movement each day. Give it a try and see how you feel by the end of the April!
Every MOVE Counts
Join one of our monthly challenges on DeakinMOVES to start building your 30 minutes of movement each day. It’s a great way to tally up all your activity over the intra-trimester break and possibly score a prize for your efforts!
- Start tracking your activity for our Active April MOVES challenge – everyone who reaches 20,000 MOVES by 30 April will go into the draw to win a one-month DeakinACTIVE membership!
- Do you love the camaraderie of a good fitness class? Join our Active April Classes challenge! Everyone who completes at least 10 classes before the end of the month will go into the draw to win a one-month DeakinACTIVE membership.
Download the DeakinMOVES app if you haven’t already, navigate to the ‘Join our challenges’ section of the homepage, and choose your challenge – or join both!
FREE Group Fitness Classes!
Want to try out DeakinACTIVE or bring along a buddy for a group fitness class? Join our FREE group fitness classes this month (running from 4-29 April*). Check out the FREE group fitness class schedules by selecting your preferred campus below:
Must book via the DeakinMOVES app. Download the DeakinMOVES app if you haven’t already, select your preferred campus/location and book into your free classes today!
*Please note: Not all group fitness classes are free. Please check class schedules to access the free classes. Classes will not run on public holidays or during Easter break.
Online Wellbeing Classes
Can’t make it to class, studying off campus or just need some time to decompress for a mental health break and some time out during the day? Join us for our free online wellness classes running from Mon-Thurs (not classes held on public holidays).
Join us in Pride Week
As part of Deakin’s Pride Week (Monday 4–Friday 8 April 2022), during which we celebrate our LGBTIQ+ community, DeakinACTIVE are offering free gym access between 7am–10am, Monday to Friday to our LGBTIQ+ community (please see reception on arrival and complete a casual user form before your workout).
DUSA your Student Association is also hosting a Social Soccer Tournament and launching an exciting range of ‘Come and Try’ activities to get everyone mingling as we move! The DUSA Social Soccer Tournament (Friday 8 April, 12–4pm in Melbourne) is open to all students of all abilities. You can register with friends or as an individual, and there’ll be plenty of prizes and medals to be won on the day! Get moving and sign up today – registrations close 3 April.
This Girl Can
Be strong, be powerful, be you!
As part of This Girl Can Week (Monday 11-Thursday 14 April) DeakinACTIVE are offering free gym access between 7am-10am, Monday to Friday to all all women (please see reception on arrival and complete a casual user form before your workout).
