Ah, springtime – there’s no better time to get outdoors and get active! Take a look at what’s on at DeakinACTIVE in September and celebrate the return of warmer weather with our great offers.
This month, we also focus on our collective wellbeing for Women’s Health Week (5–11 September), R U OK? Day (8 September) and This Girl Can Week (12–18 September) – so remember to prioritise your mental and physical health, stay mindful of how those around you are doing, and join in on our special activities on campus and online!

Challenge yourself
It’s time to get MOVEing this September with our monthly fitness challenges.
- Sept-member: Everyone who attends at least eight group fitness classes over September will go in the running to win one of three two-week free memberships (valued at $30 each).
- Move-tember: Everyone who totals 20k MOVEs will go in the running to win one of two one-month free memberships (valued at $60 each).

DeakinACTIVE is currently running free meditation, pilates and yoga sessions online. Take some time out to stretch your body and relax your mind in between your study sessions:

Women’s Health Week, 5–11 September
Women’s Health Week is to inspire all women, girls and diverse gender people to make health a priority. This Women’s Health Week, tune into our social channels to see how you can boost your health, fitness and wellbeing.
R U OK? Day, 8 September
Are you really OK? R U OK? Day raises awareness about mental health and is the national day of action reminding us all to check in with the people around us. This 8 September, join us for a 4km running challenge, or share a photo of you and a friend by tagging us on social, to go in the draw to win a six-week membership and six-week training program! Join today via the DeakinMOVES app.
This Girl Can Week, 12–18 September
This Girl Can Week aims to inspire women to get active – however, wherever and whenever they choose without being judged. DeakinACTIVE will be sharing #thisgirlcanvic content throughout the week, as well as sharing personal insights from a variety of female students, members and staff at Deakin. Join us on our social channels to see their stories.
We’ll also be offering additional free group fitness classes during This Girl Can Week too – run by females, for females! Book your free in-person group fitness classes via the DeakinMOVES app.

Get strong, stay safe
Every Wednesday morning from 7–10am, DeakinACTIVE provides a Safe Space inside our facilities that is welcoming and accessible to all. We invite all students and staff who may be neurodivergent, part of our LGBTIQ+ community and/or who may have a mental or physical disability, to come and train with us at no cost and with no obligations.
