DeakinPLAY social sports competitions are a great way to have fun and stay active during your time at Deakin. Our comps are an easy and affordable way to stay active – and we love to have fun! With a range of competitions including (but not limited to) basketball, netball, and doubles badminton, there are no limits to who can join, and we encourage all ages and abilities to join us.
The competitions are open to all of our students, staff, and community members (public) and it’s a great way to have a run around, build up a sweat to get those feel-good endorphins pumping. It’s also a fun way to socialise with your friends or meet some new ones!

Waurn Ponds Campus
Social sport competitions are played at the Indoor Stadium in the KD Stewart Building (Building DA) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Team Registration – if you have a team ready to go, simply jump online and register now!
Individual Registration – Don’t have a team but still want to play?
Register as an Individual and we’ll add you into a Team looking for players – a great way to meet new friends!
The total cost of your team is split across everyone who is in your team.
The payment is upfront for the entire season, this way if you need a fill-in one week because someone is busy/sick/away etc. they can play without having to pay any additional fees.
Joining the competition after it’s already started? No worries! No need to pay the full amount – just pay pro rata instead
Team Fees = full season $500
Total price split between all Team Members eg. 4 players = $125ea for the whole season
Individual Fees = $110 per individual
Team Fees = full season $900 per team
Total price split between all Team Members eg. 10 players = $90ea for the whole season
Individual Fees = $90 per individual
Team Fees = full season $200
Total price split between all Team Members eg. 2 players = $100ea for the whole season
Individual Fee = $100 per individual
No experience is necessary – and everyone is welcome! If your goal is to meet new people, keep fit, or to play more competitively we can cater for all levels of amateur competition.
You sure can! If you don’t have a team but still want to play, register as an individual and we’ll add you into a team who are looking for extra players. We’ll also be making up teams from the individual registrations – a great way to meet new friends!
You sure can! You’ll both need to register as an individual and once you’ve done this, send us an email (or use the from below) to let us know both of your names and that you would both like to play together in the same team.
