Information Update – Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The health and wellbeing of our DeakinACTIVE members remains our highest priority. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation, stringently following all government and health guidelines, and listening carefully to the questions and concerns we receive from our staff, members and Deakin University.
We acknowledge in these uncertain times it’s important that we provide you with as much information as possible about our operating procedures during this time, in order to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for our members.

In addition to normally high sanitation standards, DeakinACTIVE has implemented a range of stringent protocols surrounding the cleanliness of all facilities including staff and member wellbeing management.

These include:

  1. Increased cleaning across all Clubs
  2. Increased signage and awareness of the importance of cleaning equipment and surfaces with the supplied antibacterial products
  3. Working with both our management staff and in Club teams on procedures and processes to mitigate potential infection.

We can confirm there has be NO confirmed case of COVID-19 in any DeakinACTIVE facility, however, our first priority is to ensure we are proactive for the safety of our members, and staff.

All Clubs use an antibacterial disinfectant spray as well as wipes to ensure members, in addition to our cleaning teams and staff, have cleaning products readily available for surfaces and equipment.

If you are a student of Deakin University, you can find further information on our COVID-19 FAQ.

In addition to the steps DeakinACTIVE are proactively taking, we wish to take this opportunity to remind you of the things you can be doing to protect yourself and others.
